How to Book Your Visit

Make sure you have read the Candle Tea Reservations page.

Follow the instructions below to book your reservation(s). Before beginning, you may want to watch this short video.

First, select the TYPE you want: Regular Tea, School Tea or Scout Tea

• Regular Tea
  

  Guided tour of the Single Brothers House, with introduction, caroling, candle-making demonstration, historic kitchen with sugar cake and coffee, putz and nativity.
  Admission: General admission 13+, $9 per person; children 3-12, $5 (new this year); children under 3, free (regular tea only). 
  Tour totals about 1 hr. 45 min.
  Dates & times: 
  • Wednesday: Dec. 4, 1:00-8:30 p.m.
  • Thursdays and Fridays, Dec. 5-6 and 12-13, 1 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
  • Saturdays, Dec. 7 and Dec. 14, 11:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m.

• School Tea
  

  For school groups (public, private and home-schooled). Abbreviated tour of the Single Brothers House, with candle-making demonstration, historic kitchen with cookie (gluten-free available), putz and nativity. Admission is $3.50 per person, including small children. Tour totals about 1 hr. 15 min.
  Dates & times: 
  • Wednesdays-Fridays, Dec. 4-6 and 11-13, 9:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

• Scout Tea
  

  For Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and similar groups, with adult leaders. Same tour as School Groups above. Admission is $3.50 per person, including small children. NEW THIS YEAR: Scout patches are  NOT INCLUDED is the reservation price. Instead, patches may be pre-ordered, for $1 each, during checkout, and picked up when your group comes to Candle Tea. Watch a video about ordering scout patches during checkout.
  Dates & times: 
  • Saturdays, Dec. 7 and 14, 9:00 a.m.-11:15 a.m.

When you select your type, the calendar will advance to the next available date, and the dates will be highlighted in green in the calendar. Dates in red are completely sold out and cannot be selected. Select the green date you want, then find a time that has enough availability for your group. Large groups may have to split up over more than one time slot. 

When you find the date/time you want, click Book Now. Double-check the type and date/time, set the Quantity (number in your group), then click Continue. To book an additional reservation, click Add Booking in the top left corner and repeat the selection process. 

When you're ready, click Continue to complete payment. You will receive a confirmation email with your reservation(s) date(s) and time(s). Please bring that with you, or a photo ID, when you come to Candle Tea. Arrive 15 minutes early for check-in.

Candle Pre-Sales (new this year, beta testing): Selected reservation times have the option of pre-ordering the handmade beeswax candles that are normally bought in the Candle Room. If your reservation is for 1 p.m. through 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday or Thursday, Dec. 4 or 5, you will have the option of purchasing candles along with your reservation. Simply select the candle or the holder you want, click the tab that says "Book Now," adjust the quantity you want, and click the button "Add to Booking." Repeat for each item you would like to add to your purchase. Completed orders cannot be changed, although candles will still be available for sale in the Candle Room. Pick up your order in the Candle Tea entrance hall before beginning your tour. Watch a video of how to add candles/holders to your order. If successful, candle pre-sales will be expanded for future Candle Teas.
